You. Are. Not. Broken

When a glass shatters on your kitchen floor after it is dropped, it is finished.  There is rarely a chance for you or anyone else to sweep the pieces all together in one spot and glue them back together.  The glass is broken. Never to be repaired.

Unlike glass, though, we are each uniquely designed to last. No matter how far we fall from safety, our emotions, and lessons learned from previous experiences help to hold us together if we trust the process enough to allow such to happen.

The key difference is that even the finest glass must be reached for to move. Its very being is simply to exist in a stationary format-only to be moved when someone reaches for it out of need.

You, my friend, are not glass. You were created to move. You were created to do more than just remain as you have always been. You were designed to get up whenever you are pushed down, are dropped or simply fall.

You were created to live! Remember that.

If you believe that simple fact, then you may grow to recognize that sometimes, waking up and saying "good morning" is enough to get you closer to your life's purpose-even when you don't feel like it.  When you actually get up, you have a better chance of moving forward than you do if you chose to just stay down. For some of us, it is simply making the decision to get up that leads to outcomes greater than we could ever have imagined.

Think of all of the inventions, songs, books, and triumphs in history that would never had occurred if their initiator had stayed down at their first failure. All it takes it one Google search to realize that folks like Michael Jordan, Oprah, Henry Ford, Walt Disney, Beethoven, and many others had every justifiable right to feel broken and quit working toward their dreams.

BUT THEY DIDN'T.

So, get up, child! You are not broken.

Yes, you may have hit the ground.  You may feel that the pieces of your life have scattered everywhere.

But, you are not broken.

Everyone around you my seem to be prospering while you are still struggling.

But, you are not broken.

The report that you received from the doctor may not have been what you expected.

But, you are not broken.

They may have foreclosed on your dream home and seemingly your dream.

But, you are not broken.

How do I know?

I have been there and guess what?  I'm still here. I can't help but think that if I had quit when I wanted to, I would not have been in a position to give you this message in this moment-right when you need it.

You are not broken.
